Times Higher Education World University Ranking
The ranking evaluates the performance of research universities based on their core missions and includes the following criteria:
- Teaching and the learning environment: Includes academic reputation and the student-to-staff ratio.
- Research environment: Measures research volume, research income, and research reputation.
- Research quality: Focuses on citation impact, research strength, excellence, and global influence.
- International outlook: Measures the proportion of international students, staff, and cross-border collaborative research.
- Industry and innovation: Measures the amount of income the university generates from the industry sector and patents.
University Impact Ranking
The THE Impact Rankings, published by Times Higher Education, is the only global performance table that assesses universities against the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It measures their societal impact in the areas of research, environmental stewardship, community outreach, and education.
UI GreenMetric
UI GreenMetric Ranking is an annual international index launched by the University of Indonesia (UI) in 2010 to evaluate global universities and their commitment to environmental sustainability, aiming to reduce carbon footprints and develop green campuses.
Evaluation Criteria:
The ranking relies on 6 main pillars that measure the quality of the university environment:
- Energy and Climate Change (21%): Energy efficiency and emission reductions.
- Setting and Infrastructure (15%): Green spaces and the proportion of eco-friendly buildings.
- Waste (18%): Recycling programs and waste management.
- Transportation (18%): Promoting sustainable mobility and reducing vehicles within the campus.
- Water (10%): Water conservation and recycling policies.
- Education and Research (18%): Academic courses and research related to sustainability.

SCImago Institutions Rankings (SIR):
It is a global ranking that evaluates universities and research-focused institutions based on a composite indicator that combines three main criteria to measure academic and scientific performance:
- Research (50%): Measures the volume, impact, and quality of research papers published in journals indexed within the Scopus database.
- Innovation (30%): Measures the institution’s technological impact, the number of patents, and the volume of citations the institution receives from patents.
- Societal Impact (20%): Measures the reach and impact of the university’s research on the general public online, as well as the volume of mentions of its research across social networks and web pages.
Webometrics
The Webometrics Ranking is the largest global evaluation system for universities, published twice a year in Spain by the Cybermetrics Lab, a research group belonging to the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC). It does not only measure the quality of education but also evaluates the online presence and impact of universities, the size of their digital content, and their academic research.
