Iraqi Ranking of Universities (IRU)

The Iraqi Ranking of Universities (IRU) is a national ranking produced by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in cooperation with the Research and Development Directorate. It evaluates Iraqi universities against a unified set of indicators covering teaching quality, research, and community service.

Ranking Pillars

Teaching and Learning: programme quality, faculty-to-student ratio, educational infrastructure
Scientific Research: publications in international databases, citations, patents
Community Service: community engagement, consultations, training
Internationalization: cooperation agreements, international students, academic exchange
Resources and Administration: administrative efficiency, human and financial resources
Governance and Transparency: policies, procedures, reporting

Note: The ranking is released periodically. The Performance Evaluation Division in the department collects and submits the required data to the national ranking committee.
