University of Al-Qadisiyah Strengthens Capabilities with Three Certified Trainers in Energy Sustainability, Environment, and Climate Change

As part of the efforts of the Quality Assurance and University Performance Department to consolidate concepts of sustainability and build institutional capacities, the University of Al-Qadisiyah has bolstered its staff with three certified trainers. This follows their successful completion of the sixth “Training of Trainers (TOT-Level 3) in Energy Sustainability, Environment, and Climate Change,” hosted by Al-Nahrain University’s Continuing Education Center from June 21 to July 2, 2026.

This participation aligns with the strategic adoption of this training program by the Quality Assurance and University Performance Department, recognizing its importance in preparing personnel capable of promoting a culture of sustainability, enhancing energy efficiency, and supporting efforts to reduce emissions and adapt to climate change, in line with the directives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The participants from the university were:

  • Asst. Prof. Dr. Omar Hussein Harran – Quality Assurance and University Performance Department.
  • Asst. Prof. Dr. Maryam Saad Naji – College of Science.
  • Mr. Salam Hussein Nasser – Quality Assurance and University Performance Department.

The participants were awarded the “Certified Trainer (TOT-Level 3)” certificate after meeting all program requirements, qualifying them to conduct training programs and transfer expertise both within and outside the university.

The Quality Assurance and University Performance Department emphasizes its continued support for specialized programs that contribute to human resource development, foster a culture of quality and sustainability, and prepare qualified trainers to lead energy, environmental, and occupational safety initiatives. This further establishes the University of Al-Qadisiyah as a leader in supporting sustainable development and community service.
