Al-Qadisiyah University Participates in the Elsevier Impact Conference 2026 in Spain After Scientific Proposal Acceptance to Develop Iraqi Journals

In a new academic achievement that reinforces Al-Qadisiyah University’s international presence, the scientific proposal titled “Enhancing International Visibility of Iraqi Journals through Editorial Reform” has been accepted for inclusion in the scientific program of the Elsevier Impact Conference 2026, which will take place in Madrid, Spain, from November 3 to 5, 2026.

The acceptance of the proposal—submitted by Prof. Dr. Abbas Sabbar, Editor-in-Chief of the Qadisiyah Medical Journal and Director of the Department of Quality Assurance and Academic Performance at Al-Qadisiyah University, and Prof. Dr. Ibrahim Abdul-Majeed Al-Tamimi, Editorial Board Director of the Qadisiyah Medical Journal and Head of the Microbiology Department at the College of Medicine—came after successfully passing the scientific peer-review process conducted by the conference’s scientific committee, securing its place among the selected presentations in the official program.

The presentation will highlight the experience of advancing Iraqi scientific journals through editorial policy and practice reforms, mechanisms to enhance scientific publishing quality, and strategies to increase the international visibility of Iraqi journals—contributing to expanding their indexing opportunities in global databases and boosting their academic impact.

The Elsevier Impact Conference is considered one of the premier international conferences specializing in scientific publishing. It annually convenes an elite group of editors-in-chief, publishers, researchers, and decision-makers in the scholarly communication sector to discuss the latest trends and strategies for journal development, enhancing research quality, and raising academic publishing standards globally.

This achievement reflects the advanced scientific standing that Al-Qadisiyah University and its College of Medicine strive to consolidate by supporting faculty participation in international conferences and forums and enhancing their journals’ footprint in the global publishing ecosystem, aligning with the university’s goals to achieve academic excellence, elevate research quality, and serve the community.
